The days of the mechanic are numbered. Were you able to go into a main dealer`s workshop (which you aren`t), you would find the engine shop had been replaced by a pallet rack. These days engines aren`t stripped, checked and mended, they are thrown away and replaced whole.

In many ways Dave Dennet is someone born out of step with the times he lives in. To him cars are things you mend with a spanner and a sympathetic hand, not a computer and a job card. At DSDmotorwerks there is no intermediate receptionist, workshop customer dialog technician, service manager and workshop foreman between you and the person doing the work. You are talking to person who holds the spanners. Mechanics may not be bathed in scent and wrapped in an expensive suit but they are happy to discuss your problems, where you want to end up and any price constraints you`re working to.

Where ever possible all the parts fitted are genuine Porsche parts. There are some exceptions, particularly with modified engines but you`ll be kept fully in the picture every step of the way. We know our way around a machine shop manufacturing some parts in house. Some of the equipment we use is out of the ark but if you want to re-calibrate a 1960`s distributor you need 1960`s technology such as the  syncograph below. Dennis (the chap on the milling machine), is just old & grumpy!
