DSD Motorwerks Porsche 935 Kremer K3 at Race Retro

The DSD Motorwerks Porsche 935 Kremer K3 replica recently stole the show at the 2015 Race Retro exhibition, held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

Shown to great effect with the Classic and Sports Car Club, our 935 in its epic Vaillant livery, attracted many new and existing members to the CSCC stand. Over the three days of Race Retro, the club took plenty of enquiries resulting in both new memberships and renewals.

Alongside DSD Motorwerks Porsche 935 was the BMW E30 M3 driven by Tom Houlbrook, representing the CSCC Advantage Motorsport Future Classics series. Ian Bankhurst’s ex-Gerry Marshall Lotus Elan 26R was on display, showcasing the CSCC Swinging Sixties and Classic K series.

We were delighted to support the CSCC by bringing our Porsche 935 to Race Retro. In our experience, the Classic Sports Car Club organises friendly club racing, with an emphasis on great value for money and high driving standards. Events centre on exciting circuits in the UK and around Europe.

The CSCC differs from other racing clubs in that it is a club first and a business second. CSCC events are held as part of a series, rather than a championship, where each round is an individual event with no points. This makes the racing slightly less serious, but no less competitive, and there is no pressure to compete in every round.

The CSCC also enforces high driving standards, to ensure competitors can race hard but clean, without the bodywork bills associated with other race series. The club is beginner friendly, with a new driver ‘buddy’ system to help novices through their first race meeting. More than one hundred novice drivers have started racing with the CSCC.

One welcome visitor to the 935 at RaceRetro was well known Porsche racer, Nick Faure. We were delighted to talk to Nick about the car, as he has a long history with 935s, having raced most notably with Bob Wollek in the 750 bhp Rivet Supply-sponsored Kremer Porsche 935 at Le Mans.

DSD boss, Dave Dennett asked Nick to sign the car before they parted company: we’re delighted to say that Nick accepted the offer!
